This course is developed as part of the NELGA partnership and implemented by AERC, UCT and World Bank, with support from SLGA. The course is scheduled for 7 January – 8 February 2019 at the University of Cape Town. The aim is to enable NELGA universities to replicate this course. Therefore, applications by faculty from economic departments in your NELGA hub are welcome to attend the course and subsequently set up training in Land Economics and Governance in their own department.

Special Research Call: “Strengthening policy-research linkages on land governance in Africa” under the theme: “Land governance as a driver for sustainable socio-economic development”
This workshop is part of the series of collaborative activities for “Advancing Collaborative Research in Responsible and Smart Land Management in and for Africa” (ADLAND). ADLAND is a support activity for the NELGA programme. The workshop will be held on 20-24 August 2018 at the NUST Hotel School in Windhoek, Namibia. The Workshop is designed as a Research writeshop on the theme of Urban Development to be conducted by ADLAND. It is meant for academics and researchers in the process of preparing a paper/book chapter to be submitted.

Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) was selected as a NELGA node for Southern Africa. The node was launched on 19 February 2018.

In order to support implementing the African Union Land Agenda, the African Land Policy Centre (ALPC) has established a Network of Excellence on Land Governance in Africa (NELGA) in cooperation with Germany, World Bank and other partners.
